Google Talk Federates!

It would appear that Google Talk has has not only begun testing Server-to-Server communication with the google.com domain, but also enabled S2S communication for gmail.com! This should be the major turning point for Jabber adoption. It's time to take over the world. :D

UPDATE: Official Announcement | Official Discussion Forum

After some testing, I can confirm that I can send IM's from gmail.com to my own Jabber address, but not the other way around. How curious.

Turns out Jabberd2 was broken, so I fixed it and now it works great. ^_^

It appears you didn't understand my blog entry you linked to. Server-to-server communication has been turned on for gmail.com!

Ahh. That's what my original post said, but after doing a bit of digging I wasn't so sure so I decided to make my claim to be a bit more conservative. I have happily rolled it back. :D
