MacStumbler and SSHKeychain (Universal)

445px-Universal_Binary_Logo I was going through my Applications folder on my MacBook Pro last night looking to replace old PowerPC versions with newer Universal Binary builds. I was saddened to find that a handful of my apps did not yet have Universal Binary counterparts. SSHKeychain 0.7.1 worked fine, but was a little slow to start up, but MacStumbler 0.75b didn't work at all. Well, after a night of insomnia I have created Universal Binaries for both of these apps. Enjoy.

NOTE: I just fixed the weird negative signal strength issue. Try re-downloading the file above and giving it a try.

Thanks ! I actually tried to download the version on the November version of the MacAddict CD and was bummed when it kept locking up/crashing – something I'm not used to with my macs...

Very nice. Although there are 2 strange things.

    • Every SSID is shon twice.
    • The signals are negative values.

Running on a Intel iMac, 2 Ghz, 20".

I do appreciate you taking the time, but I too am seeing the results as negative numbers. I took screenshots so you can see what we're seeing. If you need testers, I'd be happy to assist.

Great to have MacStumbler back - but I am also getting negative numbers. Restarting didn't help; nor did trashing prefs...

Any ideas why? Or how to fix it?

  15. none Says:

Has anyone had any luck trying to make macstumbler compatible with usb 802.11 dongles? I'd love to use my old PPC Mini in a mobile project, but it didn't come with wifi. :(

Thanks loads for this. You really saved my bacon, with my wife who was flipping over a sudden low signal. My old trusty copy of Mac Stumbler kept crashing on my new macbook, but your UB did the trick. I found the offending router in our neighborhood and promptly change our routers channel.
