Look what I found inside of the front bumper of my Prius this evening:

After work today I got in my car and just as I was about to leave, I heard something. It sounded like...

No, it couldn't be. But just to be sure I got out of the car and walked around, but found and heard nothing. Figuring it was just the car making a weird noise (it sometimes does that), I shrugged it off and drove home.

When I got home I was getting out of the car when... I heard it again! It sounded like... A kitten! Wait, a kitten? There surely wasn't a kitten in the cabin. I got out of the car and tried to locate the animal, and was unsuccessful for several minutes.

It turns out that there is a cavity (which I will now forever refer to as "the kitten brig") in the front of the car between the front grille and the radiator.

Now think about that. I was driving down the interstate with this rail of a kitten hanging out in front of my radiator. The poor thing must have been terrified!

While I had to disassemble part of the front of my car to get to him, I managed to successfully extract the kitten. Granted, he wasn't terribly happy about being extracted at the time, but I'm sure he'll thank me later.

He's eating, drinking, and by morning I'm sure he'll be doing...well..the other stuff. He's in the bathroom quarantined from the other cats. Tomorrow it's off to the animal shelter for the guy, but I'm sure he'll find a home quickly. He warmed up to me after a few hours and I'm sure he would make a great pet for someone who doesn't already have two cats.
