Ginger Ale FAIL

A few weeks ago, Sophia and I attempted to make homemade ginger ale, and it was a wonderful success. It was like magic. Super easy too.
But with pride comes complacency. I got a little impatient decanting the latest batch. The latest batch was special because I ground up an apple and put it into the mix as well as ginger, so there were lots of little apple bits in it. Seemed like a good idea at the time. It went prompt critical around 11 pm last night, while Sophia was working on the wedding invitations.
The thing erupted when the cap came off, sending a maelstrom of ginger-infused apple-bits everywhere. The mess was epic. I still haven't found the cap.

Dude, that's epic. Do you think it was the decanting, or do you think it was the extra sugars in the apple kicking it into overdrive? Yeast loves fructose!

I know what that's like. I had some ginger beer explode in my laundry once. It destroyed the plastic storage box the bottles were in and coated every surface of the laundry with not-very-good ginger beer. It reeked for days.
